What is a sponsorship deal? It’s when a person or business supports an event, activity, person or organization financially or with products or services.

What kind of sponsors are there?  We’ve come across six different types of sponsors.

Financial Sponsor – A financial sponsor pays a set amount of money in exchange for benefits outlined in a sponsorship agreement.

In-Kind Sponsor - They donate goods or services rather than cash as their sponsorship offering

Media Sponsor - A media sponsor is a company that finances or secures media coverage for an organization, program or event.

Location Sponsor - A business may offer the use of its facilities as a form of sponsorship.

Labor Sponsor - A corporation that donates the time and talent of its employees is considered a labor sponsor.

Signature/Presenting Sponsor - In the event that numerous companies are solicited to sponsor the same program or event, one will usually pay a premium to become the lead or signature sponsor.

What’s the difference between fundraising and sponsorships? Fundraising is a donation, either with a general charitable purpose or for the support of a particular project aka Fundraising. Sponsorship means supporting events, activities, persons of organizations financially or through the provision of products or services
